Japan again
This has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth and it’s little wonder the allies determined not to bomb Kyoto during the Second World War. Gardens, temples and Japanese attention to detail and design assail ones senses at every turn. Having visited Kyoto numerous times I never tire of the changing scenes as the seasons pass. One of the great assets of the Japanese landscape is the distinctive and unequivocal seasonal changes, more pronounced not just because of the weather but because of the planting over centuries which has helped create a springtime famous for the blossoms or my favorite, an autumn of vibrant reds and golds.
